Brent Townsend was the first Canadian to be named Artist of the Year for the 1989 Western and Wildlife Exhibition. His concise attention to detail and anatomical accuracy have earned him an international reputation. Most Canadians already own a piece of artwork done by Brent Townsend. Amongst your spare change you might just find Townsend's most recognizable work, the two dollar coin or "toonie". Townsend is one of Canada's foremost wildlife artists. This was confirmed in 1995 when his polar bear design was chosen to grace the "tails" side of the Canadian two dollar coin. |
